We bought this look about 1 year ago, and we're removing it and installing a different lock. As others have complained, there are major battery life issues with this lock - we are lucky if they last a month. It's properly align with the hole, and that is largely irrelevant because this isn't our primary door for entry/exit. Working from home, I often catch the problem. At a random point, the door light will come on, stay on, and emit a perpetual audio chirp until the batteries are fully exhausted. After nearly causing a catasrophe with a pet sitter situation while away, it's time for this lock to go. No one should have to worry about their two labs being stranded in a home because the pet sitter can't get in because the lock failed after only 2 weeks on brand new batteries. All of the marketing virtues of an eletronic lock are null and void if you can't trust the lock.

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT BUY THIS LOCK! Burns through batteries, goes offline constantly, support lines are on PST, closed on the new year when their entire system crashed. I used 4 of these for a year for a vacation rental business. They stole hours upon hours of my life dealing with these horrible locks. BUY A SCHLAGE, save yourself a massive headache that doesnʻt go away until you switch.

The Kwikset HALO smart wifi touch... has been pretty good for a few years now. No regrets buying it. I think the negative reviews are from people who are not good with technology. It has a pretty great app. Never once failed and locked us out. Can add as many family members as we want and everybody can have their own code. We are not a short term rental, just a regular house with a four person I/O.

I've had this lock about 18 months and I would not even consider another Kwikset product because this thing is so bad. Batteries last a month, if I'm lucky. Then it completely seems to forget that it had WiFi and Bluetooth connections when the batteries get replaced. Reconnecting that stuff is a total nightmare. I usually just give up. What's the point of having a smart lock if those features are not even being used because the experience is so bad? And now the battery door is broken from coming on/off so much.

We bought this with the faith that Kwikset was the best. This Halo is terrible. It's essentially a manual lock. The battery life is 2-3 weeks. My alignment and router distance are fine. Both Bluetooth and Wi-fi set up are difficult. You get to go through this torture everytime the batteries go dead. This lock is on our 2nd home in a remote part of MT, so we are gone for weeks at a time and return to it not working. We now use a lockbox to hide a key. Getting replaced by a Schlage.

I bought this lock almost a year ago and it continuously is in need of battery replacement. The motor has seemed to stopped working. I just replaced the batteries for the fourth time and now it just alarms non-stop as soon as the batteries are placed back in. Now it won't turn-on or work anymore. This is a very expensive waste of money. I think this is the last time I'll be disappointed by Kwikset.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My honest review on the lock, as a contractor I do install different types of keyless entry locks. This lock is on the top of my list and I recommended to my customers that want a WiFi lock. Very easy to setup it does give you a lot of options for who comes in and when they enter. The thing a like a lot on this lock is when the numbers light up to enter they are bright and easy to see just put your hand in front of the lock and they light up. It does have a secure mode to use where you get a set of numbers to enter before you put your code to unlock so the finger prints are randomly on the face, I personally don't use that because the face is easy to wipe down. Another great feature is Bluetooth you can pair with your phone, WiFi goes down you have Bluetooth to open and close and of course you can do the old school way and use a key. So far the battery life as been great and the battery life indicator works great in the app for the lock. Something to keep in the back of your mind when you see posts about fast battery drain most time that would be the lock install causing the battery drain if there is any resistance for the lock to latch and making the latch work harder to try and close. If it's a WiFi or mechanical lock proper install is the key with dead bolts. Having notifications when someone enters is a great feature I get notified when it's opened and closed and at what time. Happy with the lock

I've had this for two years. It was great for a while but now is eating batteries in less than a week. Door averages opening two to four times a day, that's it!!!! What is the warranty on this. I was going to buy another one until I read these reviews. Kwikset,, what can you do for me?

I bought this lock for our vacation home. It worked fine for a little over two months. No problems at all. Then it started saying the lock was jammed. It wasn't. The battery quickly ran down. I replaced the battery and it worked fine for the next few days. The next week a guest was in the house. It started that "jammed" nonsense again, wore the batteries down. I had the guest try to figure things out but we had to resort to using the key at all times. The jammed message happens even when the door is open and we are trying to figure the problem out. I wish I had read more reviews and not bought this lock.

I own two of these. They both deplete the batteries within 1 month of lite use. I've used brand new duracel, kirkland, and energizer batteries. Unacceptable performance.
