It comes with a durable blade for cutting the tree limbs on my farm. I'm still using that factory supplied blade after 3 months. It does need a spare battery. I suggest buying another Black and Decker tool from Walmart , that has its own battery and charger. The price is about the same , as just buying a spare battery alone , and all 20 Volt Max chargers and batteries interchange on Black and Decker tools. Then you have an additional quality power tool as well. That's what I did. Walmart's price and quick ordering through the store , cant be beat.

Love these Black and Decker tools. I bought a drill/driver before buying this reciprocating saw and was very happy with it. Happy that I thought I would try the saw. I’m very happy with my purchase. Plenty of power to complete my bathroom demolition down to the studs. Fiberglass shower insert, drywall, old studs, pipes. No problems. And now I have the standard battery for both tools. I’m ditching my old corded jigsaw next and buying a cordless from B+D.

The saw is very lightweight which is perfect for a woman to handle. I am using it to cut up some large tree roots. Fantastic little saw. The battery was still going after a straight 45 minutes of cutting, although not as powerful as when I started. I am using a 9" pruning blade with it.

used this a lot in the last couple weeks trimming trees cutting all of it up small for a burn barrell along with a bunch of old 2x6's. powerful & lightweight, used it mostly one-handed with long run time on battery...seems a good well built solid product. so far i love all my black & decker cordless tools.

The battery is a little wider than the space provided for it, but it works well once the battery is jiggled into place. I've been using the saw on the Autumn Olive and Euonymus that's taking over part of my yard.

I have no complaint with the saw, but the battery life is about 5 minutes. I just ordered a 20 volt 40 amp hour replacement battery.

Had small bush/trees growing up thru chainlink yard fence and this saw made it possible to cut where no chain saw could go!
