I bought this product a month or two ago and I was excited to use it! When I tried to put it in my waterline there was 0 colour payoff. I thought there might be a layer of something and I tried it on the back of my hand. Beautiful, super pigmented. I tried it on my waterline again, nothing. I thought, okay maybe I can use this on my upper lid for eyeliner. Horrible idea, this tugged my eyes to the point I couldn't get a good line. I don't use it on my eyes anymore, I've been using it to draw my birthmarks back on after my foundation. I guess it works great for that? Maybe I got a dud but I'm not willing to risk the money to try again :(

I am a skeptic and have been on the hunt for a decent waterproof budge proof eyeliner for awhile. I always look like a panda at the end of the day no matter what brand or formula I chose and I've tried many. The black in this formula isnt too dark or inky it's a nice silky black that isnt harsh. It glides on smooth, BUT LADIES this one does need time to dry and set. I tested it and found that after apply it that you should wait a few minutes before moving on to the rest of your regimen. But after it sets it will not move. I have semi oily lids, and with a bit of concealer it seemed to stay put fine. I do like this eyeliner alot but I dont think itll work for everyone.

I bought this because I really wanted to have eyeliner for my waterline that wouldn't smudge or come off during the day. I was skeptical about this product but it really does stay! I love it. Goes on easy and isn't clumpy, doesn't stick to my eyelashes like some other liners either. I love it.

I bought 2 of these, and I cannot get them to draw, I have tried and they just do not deposit. Perhaps it is my eyelids, but I put the eyeshadow on first of course, and then, try the eyeliner and it just does not write. I even tried heating it up with a lighter and it still does not write.

its not BAD but its not the best. its also not TOO dark but its good enough for me. It can smudge, but i would just put black eyeshadow over it to intensify and set the eyeliner. Id expect this product to start running and giving you raccoon eyes at the end of the day if you dont set it though. the picture i included (with the smudging) was just lightly brushing the swatch with my finger back and forth after i applied it. its design is adorable and pretty though!

I wound up trying most of elf eyeliners..so Pros and Cons Pro: easy to put on, goes on smooth, and lasts all day Pro: it's smooth and creamy more like a crayon than a pencil Pro: retracts nice and easy so easy to travel with Con: thick more like a pencil than liquid. Overall it's an in between of the pencil and liquid so you can get it too fine I'm wearing the charcoal in the picture.

I've purchased this eyeliner in black and coffee. I wear the coffee more often as I'm fair skinned and like a softer look, but every one I've bought is so dry that it hurts to put it on. I love the wear of this liner but it's really frustrating that the color I like seems to have the same issue every time I buy.

This eyeliner could go on smoothly and last all day but the fact that you can't sharpen it (and it doesn't come w/a little sharpener like most retractable liners) makes it useless. I went on YouTube to see how eyeliners like this could be sharpened and it was way too tedious of a process to even bother with. I love elf because they have so many great products, are super affordable, and cruelty free but this liner is a definite pass.

I use liquid liner everyday but only recently started tight lining but I have watery eyes so I tried this. Love it! Easy to use, goes on so smoothly and doesn't run and the color is bold. The only thing I don't like is that the cover is too short so if you don't retract it every time,she will smash! Other than that it's perfect

...but when it's bad, it's horrid! I have bought about 10-12 of these in black, and one (accidentally) in charcoal. Every single pencil has been different. The 5 is for the best ones (soft enough to go on easily, good pigmentation, stay on the waterline decently, longlasting unless you rub it), but I would give the worst one (the charcoal) a zero (NO pigmentation, dry, waxy, useless!). The ones in between can be dry and lacking pigment, or perfectly adequate--last about 6 hours, easy to apply and control, decent pigment and flattering black color... I guess it's a crap shoot. Luckily they're cheap! They have become my daily eyeliner, and I give them a five because they are extremely hypoallergenic (I am allergic to 99% of eyeliners) and, when layered, they stay very well on the waterline when others are gone in an hour.
