The yarn is wonderfully soft to the touch. However, the suggested use in the RED HEART GRACEFUL SHELL SHAWL is not going well. It's not the fault of the yarn. There's no way that this pattern is “easy”. Between the * * and the [ ], there's no way to keep it straight. The only thing “easy” is that it rips out easily so that I can start again- third time might be the charm. I'm thinking that stitch markers on the beginning 53 chain might be helpful.

Not happy with this yarn it split so much I don't want to finish it.

It is much softer than the regular Red Heart supersaver yarn.

This is a great yarn. Earlier I bought 10 skeins and made lots of hats and scarves. I liked it so much I ordered 34 more!

Red Heart soft is easy to work with, soft on my hands, and works up beautifully for whatever item I make.

Very soft, but I've noticed some times that it is a bit frustrating to work with because the strands are a bit looser and i tend to catch my crochet hook between them and so it takes a bit longer to work it and can have strands come apart, if that makes sense. It just means i can't really crochet while watching tv and half paying attention. But if i am watching my work and being more deliberate and careful with my hook movement then it's ok. It is a pretty with a bit of sheen to it, just a bit more delicate.

I was given a ball of this red heart soft when I started to learn crochet last February. I liked the feel and color so much that I ordered enough to make an Afghan. Then when I still had some left, I made a poncho for myself. Now a friend wants a poncho for her , she loved the color also, and so I will be ordering more this month.

The yarn felt terrible, rough, and hardly soft at all. It tangled easily, which made winding it and frogging very difficult and time-consuming. It broke often in the process. Some skeins had sections where strands were loose and unwound. I will never buy it again, never use again once I use up what I already have.

This yarn is a quality soft yarn but the tail end to start with is hard to find and it has to be dug out with a huge ball of yarn that is tangled. It needs the end sticking out so it can be started immediately. I had to re roll the wad onto something so it wouldn't tangle worse.

Red Heart Soft is exactly that, Soft and Shiney!! It comes in a nice variety of colors but I wish that in the future they could add some really vibrant colors to the mix. I think it could be considered a work horse type of yarn, nice for a variety of items.
