Q2: Can it be use to bake the bread? No, these baskets are used only for proofing your bread dough just before baking.Once your bread dough has (proofed) then you will turn the basket over to let the dough drop gently onto another as it leaves a nice design on the loaf. 
Q3:How to clean and maintain the banneton proofing basket? Scrub them out with a wire brush and hot soapy water within 2 minutes, and leave it somewhere to warm and dry after cleaning, then store it in a light well ventilated spot.
